Beijing Trade Mission
A delegation of thirty business, First Nations, education and agency representatives from northern BC traveled to Beijing for a one week trade mission that was highlighted by Northern BC Day at the BC-Canada Pavilion on June 19, 2008.
The trade mission adopted a "Pathway to Gold" theme to describe the vast economic opportunities available throughout northern BC.
While in Beijing, activities included sector briefings at the Canadian Embassy, participation in a Department of Foreign Affairs sponsored investor showcase for Asia Pacific Gateway projects, tour of the Tianjin Economic Technological Development Area (home to the Tianjin Port and the gateway to northern China).
On June 19th the delegation hosted a number of presentations, meetings and product showcase events throughout the day. Over 100 businesses and partners attended.
