Global Prince George
Prince George businesses have access to a suite of services aimed at connecting them to the global marketplace.
Global Prince George 2008-2011 is a three-year project aimed at maximizing the global connectedness of Prince George and regional businesses and organizations, by delivering a suite of international trade and investment services that are complementary and aligned to the overall goals of Initiatives Prince George and the City of Prince George. The project places a focus on generating increased export and investment opportunities for businesses in the region.
Global Prince George is the strategic point of contact in the region for industry, business, agencies, institutions, entrepreneurs, communities and various levels of government for inquiries related to advancing international trade and investment. The program serves local, regional, provincial, national and international requests and strives to identify, communicate and disseminate investment information with a focus on:
- increasing the number of new exporters/investors/researchers active or expanding their activities in new markets
- increasing the number of innovative partnerships that link local area knowledge, research innovations and technology in emerging sectors with international markets and in-bound investment
- increasing the number, reach and impact of relevant international linkages for Prince George
- increasing the number and value of new business and business expansion investments in the Prince George region that lead to increased participation in international markets
- increasing the number of businesses and organizations recognized for their achievements and contributions to international trade and investment that directly impact the region
Strategic outcomes of the project include:

Global Prince George addresses the enormous opportunities offered by the Asia Pacific Gateway and Northern Corridor. The multi-billion dollar investments in the container facility at the Port of Prince Rupert, the Prince George CN Intermodal and Distribution Centre and the Prince George Airport have brought the world to the region's doorstep.
New avenues for exporting goods directly to Asian markets have opened up to Northern BC businesses, and a flood of entrepreneurial opportunity has been created in areas of linking to global supply chains, transportation and logistics infrastructure, as well as warehousing, repackaging, importing and exporting, shipping, finance, insurance and freight forwarding.
