The Prince George Airport (YXS) connects Prince George and the region to major markets in North America and around the globe, facilitating global trade opportunities for businesses in and around the region. The airport is located on the Great Circle Route between major Asian and U.S. airports, and is ideally located for cargo or corporate aircraft requiring technical stop services when crossing the Pacific Ocean.
The Prince George Airport has been approved to participate in Transport Canada's international air cargo transshipment program; the completion of the extension of the main runway to 11,400 feet allows the airport to accommodate the large cargo aircraft attracted to the airport as a result.

The Business and Logistics Park currently under development at the airport provides significant opportunities for the development of warehousing facilities, aviation service centres, cargo support centres and other facilities. 688 hectares (1,700 acres) of land are currently available for development at the airport for commercial or light industrial use.
The airport supports international tourist and business passenger travel between Northern BC and points around the globe. Canada's two largest air passenger carriers, Air Canada and WestJet, as well as several smaller regional carriers, connect Prince George to the rest of North America and the world.
